Holly Tea still needs bakers
With so much going on this November, don’t forget that Saturday, November 30th, is SouthWest’s Holly Tea and sale! There will be a silent auction, trinkets and treasures, collectible bone china, and handicrafts. And what pre-Christmas sale would be complete without a bake table?! If you are able to contribute some holiday baking, please get in touch with the office or Dorothy Brown.
Thanksgiving: Food donations wanted
On this coming Sunday, for Thanksgiving, we are asking for two kinds of donations, as you are able:
For decorating the altar, we are asking for fresh fall vegetables. These would need to be brought in on Saturday morning, October 12th, between 10 and 11am.
At the Sunday 10am service, we will also be collecting canned goods. Both the fresh and non-perishables will be donated to Manna food bank or another partner.
Harvest Supper November 16
SouthWest’s turkey dinner will take place on Saturday, November 16th in the church hall. Tickets are now available.
Anyone willing to pitch in and help with cooking, serving or anything else should contact Dorothy Brown at 514 366-6071.
August Food Resources
First of all, I must apologize for giving misinformation about Manna food bank in the last newsletter. Due to renovations at Dawson’s, the food bank is closed until further notice (hopefully not much longer!)
There’s lots of information about other food programs, community meals etc. in the two attached calendars from Verdun sans faim.

BBQ a good time for all!
A big thank you off the top to Dorothy Brown for organizing the food for SouthWest’s annual St-Jean barbecue last Saturday. Thanks also to Dennis (who somehow missed getting his picture taken) and Frank for manning the barbecue. And to everyone else who pitched in to make this SWU tradition a success. The weather was fine and the turnout was strong!
Thanks to Helen Pantridge for the pictures.
